What this route actually is
Architecture is a licensed profession in Pakistan, registered by the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners. The degree is five years rather than four, and the programme must be recognised for registration to follow.
It sits between engineering and design: students who expect a purely creative course are often surprised by the structural, regulatory and technical content.
What the work involves
- Studio work dominates the degree, with long hours and project-based assessment rather than examinations.
- Practice involves drawings, client meetings, coordination with engineers, and negotiating regulatory approvals.
- Site supervision is a routine part of the job, not an occasional visit.

Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners. Registration is required to use the title and to certify drawings. Confirm the recognition status of a specific programme with the Council.

- BS Interior Design, Industrial Design and Urban Planning are shorter or less competitive routes into related work.
- City and Regional Planning is a distinct discipline with its own registration path.
