FAST engineering merit calculator

FAST uses two different weightings, and most online calculators only implement one of them. Engineering is 17% Matric, 50% HSSC, 33% admission test — the test counts for far less here than it does for computing.

FAST does not publish closing merit. Its own criteria say only that merit cut-off marks are “to be determined by the University”, so there is no past figure to measure this against.

Each component is converted to a percentage of its own total, multiplied by its weight, then added together.

FAST does not publish closing merit

FAST-NUCES publishes its merit formula but not its cut-offs. Its own eligibility criteria state only that merit cut-off marks are "to be determined by the University", and no programme-wise closing merit is released. Figures circulating as "FAST closing merit" are compiled by private sites from student reports, not published by FAST.

Check this before you rely on it

  • •FAST requires at least 60% in SSC and 60% in HSSC for engineering before merit is considered at all.
  • •Engineering requires Pre-Engineering (Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics) or ICS (Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics) at intermediate level.
  • •This is the engineering weighting. BS Computing and BBA use 10/40/50 instead — using the wrong one will change your aggregate by several points.

Weighting checked on against FAST-NUCES official eligibility criteria. That is the institution’s own published criteria. Policy still changes between cycles, so re-check it before you rely on the result.
