NET merit

NUST NET merit calculator

NUST weights the entry test more heavily than any other major Pakistani university — NET alone is 75% of your aggregate. Because NET is usually sat before FSc finishes, the intermediate component is FSc Part 1.

Because NET is 75% of the aggregate, a strong FSc cannot rescue a weak NET here. Closing merit differs by programme and campus.

The formula

  • Matric / SSC marks10%
  • FSc Part 1 marks15%
  • NET score75%

Each component is converted to a percentage of its own total, multiplied by its weight, then added together.

Check this before you rely on it

  • NUST requires at least 60% in both SSC and HSSC to be eligible, before the aggregate is even considered.
  • NET runs several times a year and your best attempt is generally the one that counts — confirm the current policy.
  • The FSc Part 1 total differs between sources, so enter the total printed on your own result card rather than assuming.

Weighting checked on against NUST 10/15/75 formula, as reported by Maqsad and CampusAxis. This is a secondary source, not an official notification — verify against the university's own admission policy.

Each university weights the entry test differently — the same marks give very different aggregates.
