What this route actually is
Agriculture is the largest employment sector in Pakistan, and the degree routes into it cover plant and animal sciences, food technology, agricultural engineering and environmental management.
It is consistently under-subscribed relative to its economic importance, which means merit is reachable while the graduate market is less crowded than the headline fields.
What the work involves
- Field and laboratory work, often seasonal and tied to crop cycles.
- Extension roles involve working directly with farmers on practices, inputs and yields.
- Industry roles sit in seed, fertiliser, pesticide and food processing companies, including sales and technical advisory work.
Worth knowing before you commit
- Much of the work is rural and field-based, which is a lifestyle consideration students from cities often underestimate.
- Public-sector agriculture departments are a major employer, recruited through provincial commissions.
- Food technology and agribusiness are the routes with the clearest private-sector demand.
The route, in order

FSc Pre-Medical or Pre-Engineering2 years
