NUST admissions and degree options

NUST is a strong choice for engineering, computing, business, and sciences, but it is also one of the most test-heavy admissions routes in Pakistan. Your NET preparation usually matters more than simply having strong intermediate marks.

How admission works

  • NUST NET usually carries 75% of the aggregate, with Matric and FSc Part 1 making up the remaining 25%.
  • NUST generally requires at least 60% in both SSC and HSSC before your aggregate is considered.
  • NET is offered in multiple sessions, so an additional attempt can be part of a sensible preparation plan.

Who this route suits

Choose NUST if you want a broad, research-oriented university with strong engineering and computing options and you are prepared to make the entry test your main academic project.

What to check carefully

Do not compare a NUST aggregate with a UET or FAST aggregate without checking the formula. A 75% NET weighting makes the same school marks behave very differently.
