From FSc Pre-Medical to specialized medical practice
Follow the flow top to bottom. Where the path forks, each option listed is a genuinely accepted route at that stage.
Biology is non-negotiable here — dropping it at Matric closes the pre-medical track later.
FSc Pre-Medical is the standard route. A-Levels with Biology works too, but needs an IBCC equivalence certificate.
MDCAT gates MBBS and BDS only. Allied-health and science degrees admit on FSc merit or the university’s own test — a low MDCAT does not close them.
MBBS is not the only outcome. The lower four accept the same FSc Pre-Medical background without an MDCAT-gated merit list.
A degree alone is not a licence. Clinical roles need a house job and council registration; the research route needs neither.
Specialization runs on top of this — FCPS or MRCP residency for doctors, MPhil/PhD for the research track.

Medical and health sciences remain one of the most demanding but high-impact routes in Pakistan. The strongest path starts with Biology and a strong MDCAT score, but allied-health degrees such as DPT, Pharm-D, Nursing, and Biotechnology offer strong alternatives with less risk of intense competition.
